Ethanolic extract of Gongronema latifolium improves learning and memory in Swiss albino Mice

Learning and memory are vital attributes of human intelligence. These processes underlie the very nature our self-awareness, planning execution task. The number people living with dementia worldwide is currently estimated at 35.6 million. About 80% world’s population depend on herbal remedies to curb mental disorders. This study aimed investigate effects administration ethanolic leaves extract Gongronema latifolium (GL) learning in mice. Thirty (30) adult male Swiss white mice were assigned into three groups ten each. Group I served as control. Groups 2 3 received 200mg/kg 400mg/kg GL respectively. All animals allowed food water ad libitum. was assessed using Morris water-maze. Results showed that swimming latencies during acquisition reversal trainings, probe trial significantly (p<0.001) decreased treated when compared south-east duration increased control group. There a corresponding decrease In conclusion, enhances visio-spatial cognitive memory. It could therefore be therapeutically use cases loss or impairment.
